Non-Profit Status
IWAK operates exclusively for purposes with no commercial gain. Funds from membership dues, events, partnerships, and donations are dedicated solely to the Association’s mission. No capital or profits are distributed to members, employees, founders, or the Board of Committees. All surpluses are retained to be reinvested into community initiatives and programs. The Board and Committee members serve pro bono. Currently, the Community Manager is the only remunerated operational position.
VAT Status
IWAK is not registered for VAT in Switzerland or internationally; it does not apply VAT to fees or events. Swiss law requires VAT registration only for entities exceeding an annual worldwide turnover of CHF 100,000. IWAK’s revenues remain significantly below this threshold. Prices listed indicate the final total. No VAT is charged, and payers cannot claim input tax deductions. The Association maintains records to ensure compliance and monitors turnover. Should legal requirements evolve, IWAK will adjust its status.
Financial Transparency
For the 2026/27 fiscal period, projected income is expected to be lower than operating costs. Fees cover infrastructure, including event coordination, digital systems, banking, and oversight. Resources are managed exclusively for IWAK’s non-profit objectives. IWAK processes payments through Stripe, complying with the Stripe Services Agreement, Prohibited and Restricted Businesses policy, and sanctions requirements. IWAK does not knowingly process payments involving prohibited jurisdictions, sanctioned individuals, or transactions prohibited by Stripe or law.
